The circular economy industry is on fire.
Some stats that will blow your mind:
☑ The circular economy is projected to generate $4.5 trillion of economic output by 2030.
☑ By 2025, 85% of global companies are expected to adopt some form of circular practices.
☑ Circular business models could reduce global waste by 50% by 2030.
But it’s not until you break each of these down that you realize how quickly the circular economy industry is really growing.
☛ The circular economy is projected to generate $4.5 trillion of economic output by 2030.
This is an impressive stat at face value.
☛ But what’s 10x more impressive is that the global economy is expected to benefit from $1 trillion in annual savings by adopting circular principles.
That’s 2.5 times bigger than the current annual revenue of the global electronics industry.
This is a signal of where things might be headed.
By 2025, 85% of global companies are expected to adopt some form of circular practices.
The last time an industry saw growth like this, it was in the 1990s when the tech industry was booming.
I’m betting the same thing will happen again here.
⦿ Circular business models could reduce global waste by 50% by 2030.
As if the above wasn’t impressive enough, this stat is just mind-boggling.
To give you a sense of how big that is, that’s like eliminating the entire annual waste output of Europe.
Or saving 500 million tons of materials each year.
My guess?
► The circular economy is going to eventually overtake the traditional linear economy the same way digital media overtook print media.
And at this rate, that will probably happen by 2040.
What do you think?
Do you agree? Disagree?
